What excites you about being an entrepreneur?

The exciting part of being a pharmacy entrepreneur is the opportunity for innovation. All of my stores are patient-centric, meaning we offer a full range of clinical services for our patients. We innovate to meet the clinical needs of our patients. 

How has your entrepreneurial career evolved since your graduation?

Over time, my entrepreneurial skills have developed into leadership skills. I have been a preceptor for over 50 students and have helped develop the career for 13 Shoppers Drug Mart Associate Owners. I take a tremendous amount of pride in helping others also become entrepreneurs in the pharmacy field  

What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur?

The best part is making a difference in people’s lives. As a pharmacy owner entrepreneur, you have the ability to positively impact the health and well-being of your patients

How do you define success?

I measure success in various ways but it depends on one’s personal goals and aspirations. For me it is measured in personal growth, career satisfaction and the impact you can have on people’s lives. 

What books/resources do you recommend for every entrepreneur to check-out?

Being an entrepreneur means dedication to lifelong learning and personal development. The most impactful book I would recommend is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”

What advice would you give to colleagues who want to become entrepreneurs?

Being a pharmacy entrepreneur gives you the opportunity to enhance patient care. The professional growth allows you to affect patients’ lives and add a meaningful contribution to healthcare in Canada.
