Overview

No more business as usual... Everything has changed for the business of community pharmacy. With diminishing returns attached to the traditional dispensing role, and an expanding scope of professional practice, pharmacy owners realize that it’s time to move to a new, more sustainable business model that focuses less on the sale of product and more on patient care and pharmacy services. A model built on the pharmacist’s expertise, skills and special interests.

A growing number of pharmacists are discovering that the future of pharmacy lies in the successful transition from a traditional product-based model to one that is more patient-centered and which capitalizes on the profession’s most valuable asset— the vast knowledge and expertise of the pharmacist. This shift will move community pharmacy toward a more viable, financially- and professionally-rewarding business model that works.

The Ontario Pharmacists’ Association and Drugstore Canada are committed to helping current and prospective pharmacy owners take the steps to move to a business model based on providing the best possible patient care.

We invite you to participate in this multi-media, multi-stream educational program designed to support you as you transition from a product-focused business model to one that rewards you for providing optimal care to your community.

We're proud to present the third, full-day program of targeted, actionable education and advice to help owners start making the changes necessary to thrive in this new environment. (To see the programs from the first two Business 2.0 events, click here). Join us on December 2 for more exciting, practical ideas to help you not only survive, but thrive, in this new environment.
